The Battle Lake Area Community Fund is a component fund of West Central Initiative. We are dedicated to enriching the Battle Lake community of which we are a part. Below are some of the ways we do that:
We award grants to Battle Lake nonprofits & school throughout the year. Recent grants include:
- $1,000 to BL School for so kids can participate in Prairie Fire Theatre.
- $5,000 to Battle Lake Area Youth Center Inc for the Battle Lake Area Child Care Center.
- We plant & maintain flowers in downtown Battle Lake each summer.
- We sponsor “Home for the Holidays” each Christmas, including putting up and decorating a Christmas tree downtown Battle Lake each November and holding a Santa/Kids Gingerbread Decorating/Activity Day each December.
- We sponsor the “Gathering of Airplanes,” a tribute to Gerry Beck, at the airport each year on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.
