Since 1947, thousands of artists have come to Cook County, Minnesota—drawn by the land, the water, the horizon line—and by the artistic community found at the Grand Marais Art Colony.
As we near the end of the year, we invite you to help us bolster our scholarship funds, which exist to provide arts access to youth students, adult students, and artists-in-residence. By donating toward arts access and core missional care, you participate in a network of stewardship and artistic support that centers on learning, artistic exchange, exploration and making.
We are grateful for your partnership.

ARTIST STORIES
Dan Olson - Painter & Student
The class offerings by the Grand Marais Art Colony have allowed me to be immersed in the place that inspires my work. I have had the opportunity to spend days in a row on the Gunflint Trail focusing on painting without the interruptions of everyday life. The instructors have been amazing and I have taken so much learning home to apply to my studio work.

Sarah Michet - Printmaker & Artist-in-Resident
The Art Colony has become my happy place. I don’t feel the pressure to be a well-known artist; I feel the passion for self-expression and creativity in a nurturing environment.
Dan and Lee Ross - Printmaking Artists-in-Residence
The print studio is a dream studio. Plenty of work space and a large Takach press. To have uninterrupted time to work out ideas and let your imagination run wild is a real luxury for an artist.
