Did you know that the American Craft Council’s headquarters in Minneapolis are home to the nation’s largest repository for information on the craft field? The ACC Library & Archives are also a public space for exhibitions, artist talks, and other unique events. Your support helps increase the impact of this resource.
Library resources and impactful collaboration come together in new Craft Labs program
In 2020, we are piloting Craft Labs, a research and residency fellowship that draws on our collection’s resources and explores craft’s impact on communities in the region. Fellows will have the opportunity to map their craft practices – from the sourcing of materials, to the people that contribute to their practice, to the places their work ends up. In making this a truly community-based project, we are asking for your help to raise $6,000 to fund this new program.
Your support helps redefine how craft can impact our communities
We are excited for Craft Labs’ potential to make new connections and support healthy craft communities. Your gift allows us to create opportunities like this and expand craft’s presence in our lives. Thank you for your generosity and support.
Give to the Max Day – a perfect opportunity to support Craft Labs
We know that craft adds value to the world by preserving traditional practices, building relationships, and encouraging creative engagement with materials and ideas. You can champion makers in Minnesota with a gift to the ACC this Give to the Max Day, November 14, 2019. This is the perfect time to show your support, to help us launch Craft Labs, and to grow the role of craft in communities.
This program also aims to amplify the voices of unheard makers from diverse walks of life and will be designed in partnership with local residents. Follow us for information on upcoming meetings where we will connect with artists, scholars, and community members to discuss ways to make this collaborative project mutually beneficial. We hope you will join us to hear their stories during talks surrounding the fellowship starting in summer 2020.
You can support Craft Labs and the ACC year-round by donating directly to the American Craft Council here.
