Looking back nearly a decade ago, I recall a lively evening with thespian friends.

We discussed all sorts of things, played charades and maybe had a glass of wine...or two.

Three hours into the party – we were planning the logistics of starting a theatre company.

A few months later – we had our non-profit status and we were searching for digs.

A week later – we had rights to our first our first production and we’ve never looked back.

Today, Absolute Theatre is celebrating it’s strong community involvement and growth.

By nurturing our talent and inspiring our artists, we’ve generated interest in our theatrical community.

We’ve produced many plays of varied genres including large-scale musicals with live bands such as Bright Star, Jersey Boys, Forever Plaid, The Robber Bridegroom, Honky Tonk Angels and Radio Gals.  We staged dramas both large and small such as Murder on the Orient Express, Three Viewings, Clue on Stage, Doll’s House 2, An Iliad.

We’ve taught classes and held workshops for the young and old.

We’ve partnered with Elder Network, Boys and Girls Club and raised thousands of dollars for their non-profits.

We were thrilled when our production of Forever Plaid took top honors at AACT state and regional festivals and competed successfully for further awards at the 2025 national competition.

And when it comes to performing original murder mysteries with audience participation, well, we enjoy that too!

Absolute Theatre exists to hone the art and craft of theatre and to present works, new and old, that entertain, challenge, and inspire our audiences and ourselves.

The definition of absolute guides our work: “existing independently, not qualified or diminished in any way; total, pure.”

Stay tuned for our upcoming announcements.  We hold open auditions and all are welcome.
