Silent Warrior Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to its mission of reducing suicide rates among veterans and first responders related to post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and military sexual trauma (MST).    Silent Warrior Project offers free retreats and virtual sessions for veterans and first responders to mindfully heal the wounds of war and recover from trauma related to duty.

At our retreats, we provide tools for veterans and first responders to heal through the practice of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR-based on Jon Kabat-Zinn’s program ) and Contemplative Silent reflection (CSR- based on Thomas Keating’s Centering Prayer). The retreat program also has other holistic modalities like Reiki, tai chi, Qigong, equine therapy, acupuncture and Somatic Bodywork.  We encourage fellowship and support around evening bonfires and fishing trips.

Silent Warrior Project utilizes a peer to peer support model (P2PSM) and encourage our veterans and first responders to get involved and become outreach coordinators and volunteers following their initial retreat.  We’ve found that if we can stay busy in the practice of helping others, we in turn are helped.

The Silent Warrior Project is comprised entirely unpaid volunteers. For that reason, more than 90% of your contributions go directly to our mission of reducing veterans’ and first responders’ suicide rates related to post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and military sexual trauma (MST).

We encourage you to get involved and help veterans and first responders mindfully heal the wounds of war and recover from trauma related to duty. Find out how you can get involved at www.silentwarriorproject.org

Thank you !
