Hello Friends & Family,
Every year, my birthday falls near Give to the Max Day (GTMD), and as you likely know I often hold a birthday fundraiser for anyone who might wish to celebrate with me in this way. In October, I joined Avenues for Youth as their new Individual Giving Manager, responsible for leading Annual Giving efforts. Since GTMD is one of the biggest fundraising events of the year for any nonprofit, it seemed only natural to select Avenues as my birthday fundraiser this year.
While I've only been with Avenues for a short time, I am blown away by the passion the organization has for supporting youth experiencing homelessness and the drive and resilience of the youth themselves.
I think Kat's story in the video linked above is a perfect example of how youth are truly the heroes of their own journeys. When given the safety and tools that we all need to thrive, they are able to chart their own course into adulthood with clarity and purpose. In the end, isn't that what we hope for all young people?
My goal for this fundraiser is to help raise $500 to support the work of Avenues. I hope you'll join me!Each night in Minnesota, over 4,000 youth experience homelessness.
For over 30 years Avenues for Youth has been partnering with youth experiencing homelessness. Whether youth need a place to stay for one night or a year and a half, Avenues is here for youth in this part of their journey.
At Avenues, youth lead the way with their journeys, and their experiences guide the programs. Avenues operates multiple programs to meet young people's unique needs and goals. Youth have options and can choose whichever path is the best fit for their future.
.
Will you join me in supporting Avenues for Youth today?
Thank you,
Brita
