2020 Reunions

In the past three years we have been able to host five reunions for combat veteran troops, serving over 150 veterans. What started out as a mission to get one unit together in 2016 turned into a dream to reunite as many units as we could. We have heard countless times from those who have participated that reunions are the best therapy veterans have experienced. We have also discovered that after reunions, the veterans involved hang on tighter to each other after they come home. The reconnections that are made in a safe environment invokes a deeper level of knowing and understanding of those you went to war with.

 Last summer we held two reunions, just weeks apart. We have exceeded what we thought was possible. All of this has been accomplished by generous donors who believe in our cause. That being said, we do go through some peaks and valleys throughout the year. We start to plan the following year’s reunions once summer is over.  We do this in good faith, since our funds are usually depleted after the reunions are held. From October through May we hold a few fundraisers and look for exposure to increase our giving community. 

We are now looking for sustainability. Our hope is to find 100 dedicated people to commit to giving $20.00 per month, for the next 12 months. If we can reach this goal, we will be able to be able to guarantee two reunions per year. We will, of course, continue to work hard to raise funds as we have been, with hopes that we will have the ability to host four reunions per year in the years to come.
