In northern Minnesota, connection doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because people decide to build it.

Bemidji Pride exists because LGBTQ+ people — and the people who love them — deserve to feel seen, safe, and valued right here at home. Not somewhere else. Not someday. Here.

For many of us, this community has been a lifeline. It’s the first place someone used their real name. The first time a parent found support. The first event where someone could simply exhale.

Pride here isn’t about spectacle. It’s about belonging.

It’s about a young person realizing they’re not alone.
It’s about elders finding community after years of silence.
It’s about neighbors choosing kindness over fear.

We host gatherings, celebrations, education, and quiet moments of connection because rural communities deserve spaces where everyone can stand fully in who they are.

But none of this happens without you.

Every donation helps cover event costs, accessibility needs, safety planning, outreach, and the behind-the-scenes work that keeps this community steady and growing. It allows us to keep events free or low-cost, so no one is excluded because of money.
