Coronavirus can affect anyone, but some lung cancer survivors are more susceptible to serious complications if they contract COVID-19. With this in mind, A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation is pleased to announce a new program dedicated to bringing hope, food and joy to those that need it most during this global health crisis. The A Breath of Hope, Eats & Joy Program in honor of Chelsi will deliver $200 of groceries to patients’ doorsteps to keep those living with lung cancer and their primary caregivers out of stores during the worst part of this pandemic.

Our trained volunteers will take precautions while shopping for and delivering groceries to the doorsteps of survivors living in the Twin Cities.

In addition to this new program, A Breath of Hope has also made the following program adjustments in response to the COVID-19 crisis:

  • Changed each of our support groups to virtual Zoom meetings. They are now available for male and female lung cancer survivors, as well as those who are mourning for a loved one lost to lung cancer. The meetings are hosted by one physician and one nurse.
  • Added a new patient education series that is offered every two weeks by Zoom with expert facilitators speaking about specific topics important to those fighting lung cancer.
  • Planned our signature events to roll out physically with social distancing protocols built into each event. Safety is our greatest concern and we are working diligently to make sure we have the right vendors, tools and protocols in place to keep our community safe.

We kindly ask that you join us in supporting our lung cancer community during this time. Your #GiveAtHomeMN gift will help provide immediate financial support to these programs so A Breath of Hope can continue to support those living with lung cancer.
