Ed Montgomery's Fundraiser for Mentor North

Hello.  If you re getting this from me you already know me... but let me introduce you to my new friend Jakob. Recently I have gotten involved with a great organization called Mentor North.   Being part of this program has reminded me that mentoring isn't just about what an adult can teach a young person. It's also about what we can learn from each other.

For a young person, having a mentor means having someone who shows up, listens, encourages, and provides a different perspective on life's challenges. Sure, sometimes it's about giving advice or guidance, but mostly it's simply about spending time together, trying something new, sharing a laugh, or knowing someone is in your corner.

Jakob and I have hung out at our local gaming convention, met for breakfast and we both love to hike.

Jakob and I are just starting to write our story, but one thing I've learned already is that you don't have to change someone's whole world to make a difference in their life. Sometimes you just have to show up and be part of it.
