Children’s Dental Health Services (CDHS) is thrilled to be growing! With your support, we’re expanding our permanent dental clinic in Rochester—doubling our capacity to serve even more children across southeastern Minnesota.

For many kids in our communities, access to dental care is limited or nonexistent. That’s where we come in. CDHS provides critical dental care to children who are uninsured or enrolled in public health programs at no cost to families.

Now, we’re asking for your help to make this expansion a success.

Who We Are

CDHS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to eliminate barriers to dental care for children in rural and underserved areas. Our team provides preventive and restorative services directly in schools, early childhood centers, and our offices in Rochester and Austin.

We currently serve children in Olmsted, Goodhue, Steele, Mower, Freeborn, Winona, Dodge, and surrounding counties.

To reduce dental access barriers by providing a dental home to underserved children through comprehensive dental care and education, right where they are.

Why This Matters

Did you know that over 60% of children in Minnesota enrolled in public health programs don’t receive any dental services each year?

That means cavities go untreated, pain goes unmanaged, and kids miss out on learning, growing, and thriving.

Tooth decay is the most common chronic disease among children, and it’s almost entirely preventable. That’s why we bring dental care directly to schools and why this clinic expansion is so important. More space means shorter waitlists, more appointments, and better access for families who need it most.

About the Expansion

We’ve purchased and moved into a new building in Rochester with space for up to 12 operatories. Right now, we’re operating with 6, which has already allowed us to serve hundreds more children each month. With continued community support, we can build out the remaining operatories.

How You Can Give

Every dollar makes a difference in a child’s health and smile. Here’s what your gift can do:

• $20 = Ten dental supply take-home kits and educational materials
• $50 = One dental sealant to protect a child’s tooth from cavities
• $75 = Fluoride varnish and oral health education for a child
• $150 = A full dental cleaning 
• $250 = Restorative care (like a filling) for a child in pain
• $500 = Helps to sponsor equipment and supplies for our clinics (like 1,000 toothbrushes) 
• $1,000 = Sponsor a full day of care for uninsured children in a rural school
