Every Child Deserves a Healthy Smile. Rochester Office
Children’s Dental Health Services (CDHS) is a nonprofit dental organization serving children and families across southeastern Minnesota, with a mission to remove barriers to care and build lifelong oral health.
We deliver mobile school-based dental clinics and office-based care to children from low-income, uninsured, or underinsured families. Our dental teams travel to schools, Head Start sites, and public health locations, bringing preventive services like cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants directly to where children learn and grow.
New Expanded Rochester Office
In 2025, CDHS opened a new permanent dental clinic at 1615 14th Street NW in Rochester, featuring six fully equipped operatories — with plans to expand to 12 in the coming years. This modern, child-friendly space allows us to double our capacity, reduce wait times, and provide a true “dental home” for children who might otherwise go without care. Our Austin office continues to serve as a vital hub for families across Mower County and neighboring communities.
Who We Serve
Each year, CDHS provides preventive and restorative dental care to more than 4,000 children across a 10-county region — including Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Steele, Wabasha, and Winona Counties.
Many of our patients face limited access to transportation or providers who accept Medical Assistance (Medicaid) or MinnesotaCare. CDHS ensures no child is denied care due to inability to pay.
Our Impact
• 4,000+ children served annually
• 2,000+ sealants placed each year
• Hundreds of children treated for active decay in our clinics
• Collaborations with Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) to provide dental hygiene student rotations and workforce training
Why It Matters
Untreated tooth decay is the #1 chronic disease of childhood — yet it’s entirely preventable. Children with dental pain miss school, struggle to eat or sleep, and may carry those oral health challenges for life.
Join Us in Making Smiles Possible
Your support helps CDHS provide affordable, accessible, and compassionate dental care to children who need it most. Together, we can create a community where no child lives in pain — and every child has a reason to smile.
