Hi Friend,

After a twenty-five years hiatus, I re-auditioned for the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus.  I'd last sung with them back in 2000.  I'll admit to being terrified having not sung in public during those entire twenty-five years.  But I pulled out an old reliable number, dragged my shaggy old throat into the audition room and, with the help of the kind Tim DePrey at the piano, was accepted.  Time has transposed me down but still a tenor.

My first performances back concentrated on outreach to the inner suburb of Apple Valley, the rural community of New Prague and to the beleaguered people of Des Moines.  It was a great experience.  The Chorus was greeted with packed audiences.  What the Chorus is doing feels so important especially in these conflicted times.  It is also providing me with a sense of purpose.  I'm so grateful and want to help the Chorus in any way I can.  With all my years and history in non-profit arts organizations, I joined the Resource Development Committee.  Welcome to fund-raising Mr. Anderson.  Best of luck.

The TCGMC is making a bold leap forward next season.  Starting in December, Minnesota Orchestra Hall will be the venue for all of our large group performances.  The Luminary Center will host our smaller groups.  The Chorus can now expand its important and positive mission with increased visibility and increased audience capacity.  However, this brave step forward involves some risk.

So now I come to the point.  Please help by donating any amount so I can make my personal goal of $750 during this Give Out pledge drive.  I'm almost there.

Thank you for reading this -- you're the best!
