African Career, Education & Resource (ACER) is a Black-led organization that has supported African Diaspora communities in the northwest suburbs of Minneapolis and the greater Twin Cities region since 2008.

As the leading issue-based community organization working to uplift and amplify the African Diaspora, ACER is building power for systemic change that advances racial and economic equity in communities.

ACER is supporting Health Equity in the Twin Cities by tackling disparities in access to testing and vaccines during the pandemic as well as developing strategies to address vaccine hesitancy among our communities.

We are keeping our communities healthy by:

  • developing community vaccination and testing clinics with minimal access barriers
  • creating culturally tailored vaccine education and engagement sessions for communities with high hesitancy
  • maintaining a community-led hotline service providing support with COVID-19 associated issues such as transportation, rental assistance, healthcare, and employment resources
  • administering a state-wide COVID-19 trusted messenger program for the homeless community in collaboration with MICAH
