It’s a hard time for families right now. Food insecurity is about much more than food. Housing and energy costs are up and grocery prices remain high. 

Too many of our fellow Minnesotans are one flat tire or medical bill away from an empty fridge. And more and more of our neighbors are looking to Second Harvest Heartland and their hunger-relief partners for help getting food on the table. 

In addition, more than 440,000 Minnesotans were impacted by delays to SNAP benefits caused by the ongoing government shutdown. While November SNAP payments have started to roll out, many families are receiving less grocery support due to the federal cuts that were approved over the summer.
