Theater that grills you

Looking for theater that pushes you, takes you that extra step beyond entertainment?   Then look no further -- Frank Theatre is your kind of theater.  Since its founding in 1989 by artistic director Wendy Knox, Frank has provided opportunities for its artists, and audiences, to grow and stretch.  Intellectually curious, Frank stages productions that ask questions and challenges expectations.  As Wendy likes to say (to paraphrase), when people leave a show, I want to keep audience members talking about what they just saw rather than where they should go to eat or grab a drink.

I have had the pleasure of serving on the board of this Twin Cities arts institution.  Like so much of the Twin Cities arts scene, Frank took a serious hit over the last several years with the pandemic and loss of ticket sales.  Undaunted, Frank did an impressive pivot and launched the well-regarded, semi-monthly live stream discussions on the state of theater, known as "Frankly Speaking."  But we've been really missing our audiences and live theater.
