Melanin in Motion Fundraiser

A lot has happened since 11-year-old Mickey landed on the cover of Issue 23.3 of The Snowboarder's Journal.

Amidst an outpouring of support from the snowboard world, Mickey and his little brother Elijah linked up with Anthony Taylor of Melanin in Motion, a Minneapolis based nonprofit initiative of the Cultural Wellness Center. 

Through Melanin in Motion, both boys got kitted with snowboard gear, seasons passes, and coaching. They’ve already been out boarding several times and it’s going well—they are linking turns and sliding happily with a community of their peers at Afton Alps, MN.

In celebration of Mickey's story and landing the front page of Issue 23.3, our crew at The Snowboarder's Journal is aiming to raise $2,330 to contribute to the funding that makes Melanin in Motion possible.
