South High School Spring Musical Fundraisier

     Thank you to all who support South High School's Performing Arts! For those of you who were lucky enough to see the Spring musical Chicago: High School Edition (on its opening and closing night), you know how incredible the show was! (And those who didn't probably can imagine based on the phenomenal talent at South.)  A huge thank you to the directors, performers, dancers, musicians, crew, and everyone behind the scenes who made this show possible! 

     These are certainly unprecedented and uncertain times, and we know that every family is being impacted by this crisis on a number of levels. If you are able, can you please make a donation to help the dance and theater program minimize the huge financial loss created by canceling the musical? 

     I know that many students and parents were devastated to have the show end early. Yet, I was amazed at the resiliency and the emotional strength of the students throughout the whole process. I am so glad they had their opening night and were able to make it through the full creation process of the show--what a journey from just January to March! 

     Unfortunately, closing three shows doesn't just impact the students--it also impacts the broader program. By losing three shows, South HS Theater lost approx. $8,000 in tickets and concession sales. If you were planning on attending the show and bringing other family members and friends--plus buying some snacks--would you consider donating this money instead to Friends of South HS Dance & Theater (FOSHDT) to help the program remain strong? If you have a little extra stimulus money or money you aren't spending on social activities now to spare, will you consider a gift to ensuring future shows will still go on? 

      Fortunately, Give MN is waiving all administrative fees now through the end of May. Every bit helps to ensure a strong future for South HS Dance and Theater--will you give a gift of $10, $25, $50, or $100?
