Help Lake of the Woods County Historical Society continue to collect, preserve, and share history!

The Covid-19 Pandemic has greatly altered our 2020 season. We normally celebrate the opening of our museum season with a potluck, updates on our upcoming season, and a guest speaker. Right now we would normally be welcoming visitors from near and far who come to visit, learn and share history of our county.

While this is quite a challenge (especially financially) we are trying our best to make this challenge into an opportunity. Many think about history as being in the past. In this case, history is now. We have turned to social media to share history, which has led to discussions and shared stories among people. We continue to work on our planned 2020 exhibit, creating weekly newspaper articles, and our newsletter so once we can open, we will be more than ready!

As a non-profit, we rely on the generous donations of others. We were hit hard when Governor Walz ordered the closing of restaurants, entertainment venues, schools, and museums. We have had to cancel our annual meeting, school field trips, and our season opening. We also have not been able to plan any future events with any certainty.

We are asking for your help today by donating what you can to our #GiveAtHome campaign. Donations will support Lake of the Woods County Historical Society’s general operating fund.
