We all witnessed George Floyd take his last breath underneath the knee of a Mpls. Police officer last May.

Our country burst at the seams and we all died a little.

The world picked itself up off of the floor and protested his murder and far too many atrocities committed against black and brown bodies, against black and brown lives for hundreds of years.

New Dawn Theatre and so many artists with in our Twin Cities’ theater community came together to give voice to this horrific moment, moments passed and to speak to our future.

A Breath for George is a collection of songs, monologues, interviews and today premiers three new short films By Vanessa Brooke Agnes, James Craven and Austene Van.

Our film focuses on the experiences of MN residences who have suffered abuses due to police brutality, white supremacy and systemic racism.

African Americans make up 20% of our MN population but 60% of the abuse by police happens against African Americans.

This film is a call to action for all of us to roll up our sleeves to make lasting, radical change against inequality, against injustice.

Your support will allow us to further develop our film, support our artists and technicians so that we may continue to present our program and show our film through out the country. Your support helps us to march forward in this movement to mobilize our communities to fight for social justice, equality and safety.
