When you support the MSSA Scholarship Program, you’re doing more than making a donation—you’re helping shape the future of Minnesota’s human services system.
The MSSA Scholarship Program exists to build and sustain a strong, diverse, and passionate workforce. Scholarships provide essential financial resources to students pursuing degrees in health and human services—helping them complete their education, enter the field, and begin changing lives across Minnesota and the greater Midwest.
In 2025, MSSA awarded $109,000 across 26 scholarships, including:
- 15 Children and Families Impact Scholarships ($5,000 each)
- 6 Diversity Scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students
- 3 Graduate Scholarships
- 2 Undergraduate Scholarships
Angela Hifume, 2025-26 MSSA Scholarship RecipientAngela attends St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, where she's an incoming junior majoring in Social Work and Psychology, with a concentration in Family Studies.
After graduation, she hopes to pursue a master’s degree in Social Work or Social Studies to deepen her knowledge and gain more experience in working with children and families.
With a background in global community work, she is passionate about serving diverse communities and hopes to contribute to community development efforts across Minnesota and the greater Midwest.
Scholarship recipients receive:
- A financial award ($2,000–$5,000)
- A free MSSA membership through their first year after graduation
- Free registration to the Annual Conference & Expo
- Recognition and connection through MSSA communications
