Foster Together MN Give to the Max Day!

If you are reading this you very likely know that our family has been involved in the foster care system for about 11 years now. We have said yes to helping 16 children in this time for varying lengths of time. Since the start of Foster Together MN they have been there for every big event to support us and the kids in our home. New placements, placements leaving, hospitalizations, Christmas and simply to say "we see you". They have come alongside us with meals, clothes, diapers, grocery shopping for us, gifts and most importantly community. The peace we have knowing help is only a phone call away is more than words can express. 3 stories specifically come to mind of how they have shown up. We had 1 kiddo enter our home for a very short time and knew he would be going to live with a family member who would need big support. He came with only the clothes on his back and he left our home 24 hours later with more stuff than could fit into their car!!! The 2nd situation was when our 6 week old was hospitalized in the PICU and very very sick. They called and said to send a grocery list so they could make sure everything at home was taken care of so I didn't need to worry about it. They showed up in hours with the whole list and then some! They sent meal gift cards and continued to follow up to make sure we were all ok and our needs met. The 3rd situation was when one of our loves went home to his biological family after being with us for 14 months-Foster Together MN came alongside his mama to make sure their apartment was set up for success and they had diapers, wipes, clothes and meals ready to go. So be it foster families, kinship families or biological families-they have been there to support the kiddos as a whole! Truly showing our community how to be the hands and feet of Jesus and meeting people where they are.
