Co-captain Chad here, and absolutely thrilled to be gearing up for my fourth Ragnar Relay with our incredible Vail community! Running found me in college and quickly became my steadfast companion for both physical and mental well-being. This year, our magnificent "Mind Over Miles" team continues to exemplify something truly special: we're so much stronger when we work together in the pursuit of mental health and wellness.
I'm incredibly proud to support our Mind Over Miles runners as they champion our Vail Clubhouse communities. Just like in a Ragnar Relay, our Clubhouses rally for one another, drawing on shared strengths to make the extended journey of mental health recovery a more accessible path for everyone.
I couldn't be prouder to hit the road for this 200+ mile challenge with this amazing crew! Whether you're in Saint Paul, Duluth, or anywhere in between, we'd absolutely love for you to cheer us on August 8th or 9th, and join us in showing that we're never alone in supporting mental health recovery in Minnesota.
Want to help us go the extra mile? Every donation helps our Vail Clubhouse communities continue their vital work.
My name is Jonathon Gregory and I am a Civil Engineering student at the University of Wisconsin Madison. I’m 19 years old and I love to hike, run, swim, and spend time with friends. Recently I have been binge watching Marvel and Star Wars movies in my free time! As for running, I started training more seriously last summer for fun with friends and I am super excited to participate in my first Ragnar!
Hi, I’m Belle! I started running in 2022 after listening to two wildly different podcasts: one about a man outrunning a black bear, and the other a true crime episode. It hit me that I couldn’t even run a minute without stopping- so if I ever needed to outrun a predator, I’d be toast. Jokes aside, running quickly became so much more than just exercise for me. When I have a rough day, I run. When I’m stressed, I run. When I’m happy, I run! It’s become a cornerstone in my physical and mental health journey, and it reminds me that I’m so much stronger than I think. I’m running Ragnar this year to support Vail Communities and our Clubhouses, where we help people find connection, purpose, and hope on their own journeys towards mental health recovery. The work we do changes lives- and that’s why I’m lacing up my shoes and running this race :) If you’re able to donate, know that your support fuels not just my miles, but the incredible community we’re building every day. Thanks for cheering us on!
Hi, My name is Raine!
My running started in Elementary school when I would attempt to keep up with my dad during his runs in a field near our house. This eventually led me to do many years of cross country running throughout middle school and high school. This is an activity that I have always loved to do and has helped my mental health when I’m struggling.
I’m running Ragnar this year to support Vail Communities! I’m so excited to support mental health and my community. I’m also running this race to encourage myself to continue to train and exercise throughout the summer so I’m better prepared for snowboard season! Please support Vail Communities in any way you can ! (:
For the 4th year, Team Mind Over Miles, begins their 207.4 mile jaunt in St. Paul on August 8th and finishes on the shores of Lake Superior by historic downtown Duluth on August 9th. There are 36 "legs" to this relay journey with each of the 12 runners participating in either 1 or more "legs". With 4 volunteer van drivers supporting the team to Duluth and 15 volunteers supporting the team at staff stations along the way, Team Mind Over Miles is hoping to raise $20,000 in support of Vail Communities RamCo, Uptown, and Hopkins Clubhouses. Your financial support is INVALUABLE to help fund our Clubhouse Support Programs!
What is a Clubhouse?
Clubhouses are local, community-based solutions for individuals living with mental illness. They provide opportunities for long-term friendship, employment, and access to medical and psychiatric services, while providing resources for education, housing, and benefits. Clubhouses utilize a holistic approach to treatment and support that address a fuller range of needs by better enabling people living with mental illness to regain hope, dignity, and a sense of control over their goals and futures. Clubhouses utilize proven standards that have been developed and are backed by evidence and research spanning over five decades to guide operations. Vail Communities is the only organization in Minnesota to support 3 accredited Clubhouses.
