RECLAIM's mission is to increase access to mental health care for queer and trans youth so they may reclaim their lives from oppression in all its forms. We're the only non-profit organization in Minnesota that offers financially accessible, specialized mental health care to this population.

We serve youth ages 12-25 and their families by providing individual, relational, group, and family therapy in both English and Spanish. We specialize in assisting youth with gender identity and sexual orientation exploration, in addition to treating mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and pervasive trauma. Beyond therapy, RECLAIM engages in community events and offers training and consultation services to help our partners improve their ability to work with queer and trans folks.

RECLAIM aims to bring mental health care directly to the most vulnerable queer and trans youth, reducing barriers related to finances, transportation, and accessibility. We use an equity-based sliding scale for all our services. With this scale, so far in 2025 we have waived over $30,000 in client fees to ensure that youth get the care they deserve to receive, no matter what. This work is possible thanks to incredible contributions from our community.

In 2024 RECLAIM provided 90 sessions of family therapy and 3,360 sessions of individual therapy to 195 clients.

Our Give to the Max Day 2025 goal is $30,000. Additionally, The Clara Foundation is matching all gifts up to $15,000!

Participating youth and families say,

“My son has, for the first time, connected with his therapist in an authentic way and this means he feels safe and able to talk about the tough things that other therapists never heard from him.”

“I never felt scared or fearful to bring up anything at my RECLAIM sessions. I had agency, autonomy, and confidence to say what I needed to say, explore what topics were most important to me, and show up authentically.”

The impact of your gift:

  • $1000 provides an uninsured youth with a month of weekly therapy, along with the care coordination services we provide to all clients.
  • $200 covers the cost of an individual therapy session.
  • $75 covers a caregiver coaching session for adults who want to support queer and trans youth in their lives.
