Help Kids Go Back to School with the supplies they need
Can I ask you to spare a few minutes in the next week? I’m hoping you’ll have some time while you’re at Target – or wherever it is you buy office supplies. Would you take a minute to head down the school supply aisle? Could you pick up a few school supplies for kids whose parents or guardians are struggling? If you don’t have time, I understand, but I’m sure you still want to help. Maybe a cash donation is your way to help.
To help a single mom.
To help a grandparent who has taken on parenting duties.
To help a dad who lost his job.
To help a teacher.
A teacher? Yes. We don’t often talk about teachers in the Back to School equation. Ask a teacher how many supplies are bought with their family’s budget. A teacher will tell you, if a child needs supplies, their teacher will get them. No matter if the child is a part of the family or classroom, a teacher makes sure kids have what they need to be successful students.
To a teacher, success in the classroom is important. Teachers know the success of the community in the future depends on their actions in the classroom today.
To help teachers and students, we need;
- Glue Sticks
- Colored pencils
- Washable markers
- Scissors, preferably Fiskars
- Elmer’s School Glue and glue sticks
- Headphones for computer lab
- Dry erase board markers
- Scientific calculators
- Yellow highlighters
- Hand Sanitizer
- Large erasers
