Partner with ZENON DANCE this as we celebrate 40 years of dance performance, education and outreach!
This year, Zenon Dance celebrates our 40th Anniversary! The Twin Cities dance community has grown so much since our inception, but Zenon has always been a central hub of activity for dancers, choreographers, and movers of all ages and abilities to connect and grow as artists
Your donation - in any amount - impacts Zenon dancers of all ages, abilities and experience.
Thanks to the generous support of donors like you, over 4,000 dancers, instructors, choreographers and accompanists were able to participate in dance at Zenon Dance School this year. With your help, these artists have a welcoming home to creatively explore dance in our studios, among a supportive community.
As, we embark on our Year-End Campaign: $40 for 40 years! Our goal is to provide dance access for over 40 dancers in need by raising $6,000 by December 31.
Will you consider making a contribution by joining our $40 for 40 campaign?
Supporters like you help make Zenon Dance stories come to life. Contributions from our community help provide:
Youth Scholarships for young 3-14 year old dancers
Collaborative outreach activities through innovative community partnerships
Affordable dance classes for adult dancers through our Xchange volunteer program
Stable income for outstanding local choreographers, dance instructors and accompanists
Guest artists for youth and adult workshops each session
With your support, we can impact our Twin Cities dance community for the next 40 years – one dance class at a time!
About Zenon Dance School
Founded in 1983, Zenon Dance School has been the heart of the Twin Cities dance community for 40 years. Zenon Dance School is housed in two beautiful studios on the 4th floor of the Cowles Center for Dance in downtown Minneapolis. Zenon offers four sessions of dance classes per year with over 25 adult and youth classes offered per session, to an annual average of 4,000 recreational, pre-professional, and professional dancers. Zenon teaches a broad variety of styles including traditional techniques such as ballet, modern, and jazz as well as hip hop, afro-modern, and belly dance. The school’s faculty consists of over 40 of the area’s leading teachers, dancers, accompanists and choreographers.
Zenon’s Dance Zone program is unique in the Twin Cities, offering collaboration opportunities for local dancers and choreographers. Zone choreographers return year-after-year to create new work on talented pre-professional dancers, who join the program through an audition process and are required to take 3-4 classes per week. The Zone program culminates each session with a showcase performance with local guest dance and music artists.
ZenONLINE
In March 2020, ZenONLINE launched to provide virtual movement classes to our community and provide a continued platform for our independent artists to teach and for students to take classes from all over the world. Dancers have joined us from Minneapolis to Madrid from their kitchens, porches and classrooms. ZenONLINE continues through today offering up to 7-10 online and hybrid dance classes weekly.
Access Programs
Youth Outreach Program offers youth need-based scholarships each session. The scholarship covers 50%-100% of a student’s enrollment in a single class or camp for one session.
Zenon Dance Zone is an intensive subsidized adult dance program for all levels, ages, and dance backgrounds for dancers who are eager to deepen their dance experience.
Xchange Volunteer Program is a work-study program that allows students or guardians to volunteer in exchange for dance class credit in-person and through ZenONLINE.
