National Yiddish Book Center Inc

The Yiddish Book Center is a nonprofit organization working to tell the whole Jewish story by rescuing, translating, and disseminating Yiddish books and presenting innovative educational programs that broaden understanding of modern Jewish identity.
 
Since our founding in 1980, we’ve rescued more than a million Yiddish books. And that was just the beginning.

With your help, we have many exciting plans for 2017 and beyond: You’ll work with us to digitize the whole of Yiddish literature. You’ll support our translation fellows, who are working tirelessly to translate more of the 98 percent of Yiddish titles that are still inaccessible to English readers. You’ll help us continue to expand our educational programs, which serve high school students, college students, and adult learners. You’ll make it possible for us to preserve even more oral histories, in Yiddish and English.
 
After three decades, we’ve emerged as one of the world’s largest, liveliest, most original Jewish organizations. Won’t you join us? A donation of $54 or more will make you a member of the Yiddish Book Center.
