Due to redevelopment efforts in the new Telegraph District, our museum has to find and move into a new location soon. We want to use this as an opportunity to create a larger, more dynamic museum.
Your donation will assist us in these efforts, and enable the museum to serve future generations by telling the important story of how telephones developed, how Nebraska leaders played a part, and how that technology impacted our lives.
The Frank H. Woods Telephone Pioneer Museum preserves and promotes the history of independent telephony and the Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company, which was founded in 1904.
The museum is named after Frank Woods Sr. (1868-1952), Lincoln Telephone's founder and an early leader in the telephone industry.
Our museum houses an extensive collection of telephones and related artifacts, some dating back to 1879. Items unique to Lincoln, Nebraska history are also on display.
Originally started in 1928 as a display to celebrate LT&T's upcoming 25th anniversary, the museum was opened to the public in 1996 at 2047 M St in Lincoln. We want to continue telling the telephone story, plus expand our exhibits and educational/entertainment efforts. You can make a difference!
