When the Women's Foundation of Minnesota launched in 1983, we became the very first statewide women’s foundation in America. Our founders imagined a Minnesota where all women and girls have access to opportunity, experience the world as a place of safety, and are valued as solution-builders and leaders within their communities.

As a statewide community foundation, we leverage community investments (grantmaking and more), research, public policy, strategic communications, and cross-sector partnerships to ensure community solutions across Minnesota.

With women, girls, and gender-expansive people at the heart of our mission, we know that men and boys must be part of the solution, and that creating gender and racial justice benefits all of us. Our focus on intersectional equity guides everything we do to ensure that those who face the greatest barriers are at the forefront of our investments and guiding our solutions.
