The past year has taught us a lot. Most importantly to adapt our teaching methods to reach more students.

COVID emptied our campus and forever impacted our organization. In the face of new challenges we adapted and created programs that bring Wolf Ridge to schools in a variety of ways.

We created:

  • Virtual Field Trips expand our on-site curriculum offerings into new formats, accessible anywhere in the world,  extending the Wolf Ridge teaching experience to schools who cannot come to campus due to distance, cost, or trip cancelations.
  • Wolf Ridge On the Road, sending staff, student naturalists and supplies to schools. Partnering with schools who want to have the Wolf Ridge environmental experience in person, but are restricted by district policy on field trips.

We continue to:

  • Host schools on campus for one-of-a-kind experiences and educational opportunities.
  • Provide programming to service the Grand Portage Reservation with weekly environmental education programs on their land.
  • Supply educational opportunities for youth of North Shore Community School at their site in Two Harbors.
  • Educate visitors to the North Shore with Wolf Ridge’s live education animals and customized tours with our professional naturalists in partnership with area resorts.
  • Mentor teachers on how to teach in an outdoor setting and supporting teachers with environmental education curriculum ideas through our "Wolf Ridge Teacher Institute".

To reach more students, we need your support.

Virtual field trips require advanced technology including cameras, and tripods. Road trips require transportation, housing, food, and supplies. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to off-set costs to expand our educational opportunities for students across the state.

Environmental education is necessary for our future. Our mission to develop a citizenry that has the knowledge, skills, motivation, and commitment to work together for a quality environment. It is a critical aspect of learning for young people and future generations. Despite the reduction in normal overnight operations, we remain steadfast in our commitment to reach out to inspire learners however possible.

Help us reach our goal

At Wolf Ridge, we know that despite this challenging time, we must continue our work and continue to advocate for the health of our planet.

We must prepare and educate youth. Wolf Ridge plans to continue teaching, researching, exploring our 2,000+ acres of forests, lakes, and streams, while advocating a citizenry that will think critically for the health of our planet.

Your donation will enable us to continue to reach young learners and equip them with the knowledge necessary to save our planet. Your support will ensure that we surface on the other side of this pandemic in a position to reach more students in more ways and expand environmental educational opportunities.

Please consider giving monthly.

Our goal is to recruit 100 donors during Give to the Max to support us through this time.
