Advancing the understanding of the geospatial and related sciences

The ASPRS Western Great Lakes Region is comprised of public, private, and academic professionals dedicated to the advancement of the geospatial profession. The Western Great Lakes Region of the ASPRS is one of sixteen regions nationwide and consists of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Indiana, and northern Illinois. We work with colleges and universities across our region to further the advancement of remote sensing and geospatial sciences. WGL region is dedicated to assist promising students studying remote sensing and geospatial sciences. Our annual scholarship program recognizes the achievements of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. Your contributions will be used to support these efforts. Current ASPRS Western Great Lakes Region student chapters exist at Indiana State University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, University of Minnesota, Michigan Technological University, Northern Michigan University and St. Mary's University(MN). 

Founded in 1934, the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) is a scientific association serving thousands of professional members around the world. Our mission is to advance knowledge and improve understanding of mapping sciences to promote the responsible applications of photogrammetry, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and supporting technologies.

We are nearly 200 geospatial professionals working in private industry, academia, government, and non-profits throughout the Great Lakes Region.
