“The Clubhouse provides the structure and support I need to create and maintain balance in my life. The Clubhouse also gives me an avenue to give back to the community.” -Clubhouse Member
OUR VISION is for people living with mental illness will lead fulfilling lives and be respected and valued as friends, family members, neighbors, and coworkers.
Northern Lights Clubhouse is a community of people who are working toward a common goal of supporting persons living with mental illness. We are a community of adults recovering from and living with mental illness, working together to reduce isolation and improve overall health and wellbeing in our community. Our clubhouse is a healing and mentoring environment for persons who have had their lives disrupted with mental illness and need the support of others who believe that recovery is possible. The heart of the Northern Lights Clubhouse is structured meaningful activity which offers opportunities to develop skills, pursue interests and engage with other members. For example programming topics include art, book club, mindfulness, cooking and nutrition, exercise and health, and employment support!
The Clubhouse is a special place. Participants are called members and the focus is on strengths and successes. Members and staff work side-by-side, as colleagues, in an atmosphere of mutual caring and respect, performing a wide variety of tasks necessary to the operation of the organization. Anyone is welcome to join us in building meaningful community.
The Clubhouse model is based on a philosophy containing four basic tenets:
On behalf of our members, thank you for supporting our work to foster hope and opportunity for many of our Ely area neighbors!
