Voices for Racial Justice (VRJ) is here to create powerful, sustainable, irresistible movements for justice across Minnesota. We use training and capacity building to ignite the power of Black, brown, and Indigenous leaders to successfully organize for racial, social, and economic justice.

For over 30 years, Voices for Racial Justice's multiracial training and organizing programs have been instrumental in building a strong racial justice movement in Minnesota.

  • VRJ has trained over 400 organizers in our well-known leadership and fellowship trainings. Our alumni have gone on to hold elected office, start social justice organizations, and take on courageous leadership roles to dismantle systemic racism and nurture healthy communities of color.
  •  Our Centering Community in Policymaking Framework has become a go-to tool for progressive advocacy organizations and elected officials championing racial equity in policymaking.
  • Our Education Equity Fellows have gone on to run and win elections for school board, start organizations, and disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline.

Today, as we face a mountain of new challenges, we are bringing powerful, everyday people into social movements through: 1) Training new and emergent leaders of color, 2) Convening networks of BIPOC changemakers, and 3) Shifting narratives and growing our collective power through storytelling.

It’s time for people of color in MN to get organized, skill up, and build solidarity on a scale we’ve never realized before. Together, we can transform systems to build a world where Black, brown, and Indigenous people live freely and joyfully. We hope you join us.
