Vasaloppet USA Snowmaking
Vasaloppet USA is an International cross country ski race in the friendly town of Mora, Minnesota. Hundreds of volunteers from the community of Mora come together to host this flagship event. It's this kind of heart, community pride, and can-do spirit that makes the Vasaloppet USA race so special.
Due to sporadic weather and low snow conditions over the past seven years, has resulted in significant challenges for race organizers. To give our skiers confidence of knowing that there will always be a Vasaloppet ski race every year, we have launched a new major fundraising effort to fund snowmaking, expanded trail development and facilities at the Vasaloppet Nordic Center Skiing Complex. In 2016 the Vasaloppet began a new era with the introduction of snowmaking at the Nordic Center. Snowmaking provides certainty that ski races can be held at the Nordic Center as an alternative venue in low snow years. Snowmaking at the Nordic Center also assures early season skiing as well as a less crowded season-long venue for skiers. However, there are costs for further trail expansion, increasing snowmaking operations, maintenance, and overall Nordic Center facilities. The Vasaloppet Board seeks your partnership in this vital effort.
