This Old Horse, Inc.

This Old Horse is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing sanctuary to retired, rescued, and recovering horses.

Since opening our doors in 2012 as a volunteer-based 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, we have helped more than 700 horses by providing a sanctuary and support network for retired, rescued and recovering horses.

Meet Pearl.  

Pearl's feet and legs hurt all the time. She was nearly always hungry and thirsty, and she was so scared. Pearl hoped against hope for help, for a belly that didn't always ache with hunger, for hooves that were cared for and weren't overgrown to the point of curving upwards. She hoped for someone kind to see her and care for her. She was worried that help would never come.

But then, This Old Horse got the call about Pearl and her companion. Equines like Pearl are the reason we exist--because every horse, mini, and donkey deserves a chance at love. We jumped into action.

When we arrived, Pearl was so scared. She had never known loving touch or gentle humans, and she didn't want to be trapped. But, she just couldn't go on like this. Pearl decided to be brave and look for a better life. She got on the trailer. She came to Wishbone Ranch.

Now, Pearl isn't the same little mule. She eats her fill of hay every day, her hooves are trimmed like they should be so that her legs don't hurt, and she looks forward to kind, gentle touch--especially from her adopter. 

Pearl is loved. Pearl is treasured. She's not longer scared, or hurting, or sad.
