Woody Budnick-Chip Williams Fund*

A nonprofit organization

The Woody Budnick-Chip Williams Fund* has given a generous college scholarship to a graduating Wayzata band senior every year since 2001. The fund has also begun supporting the Wayzata HS Band Program with additional donations.

The fund is named for two former Wayzata High School Band Directors. Woody Budnick taught in the Wayzata Public Schools for over 30 years. Unfortunately, Woody passed away in 1998. Chip Williams' career with the Wayzata Schools overlapped Woody's tenure by a couple of years. Chip served the Wayzata Band for 33 years before retiring in 2010. Both directors had great bands and a positive impact on many young musicians. Their outstanding contributions have been recognized by music organizations throughout Minnesota.

Initiated by Wayzata HS Band alumni, Dennis Burgess, the fund relies on donations from other band alumni, friends, band parents, and fundraising concerts held by the scholarship committee.

Thank you for considering a donation to our cause.
