HELP BUILD TAPESTRY'S FUTURE

For 40 Years A Gathering Place

You're support keeps our community strong!

In 1983, a dedicated group of people who shared a common passion acted on their dream of building and sustaining a diverse community filled with people dancing and finding joy through the traditions of folk dances from around the world.

40 years later, Tapestry is busy as ever as a cultural hub for joyful dance experiences, hosting 10 lively programs, 20 weekly rental partners, and 3 nationally recognized weekend events, with hundreds of members, dancers, and new friends standing shoulder to shoulder, keeping the founders’ dream strong. WOW!! What phenomenal growth Tapestry Folkdance Center has experienced over the years!

Tapestry is a warm, historical and welcoming community. In a world where loneliness is reported as an “epidemic” and there are so many things that can divide us, Tapestry is bringing people together through dance and music. We need more of this in our world, especially right now!

"Dancing is a vital source of joy in my life, one that I want others to share! Giving to Tapestry Folkdance Center increases our ability to connect people on the dance floor and to continue offering such opportunities well into the future." - Susan Knutson, Board of Directors

Tapestry is seeking to raise $60,000 to support the multiple layers that hold this community of people and Center together:

  • Programming costs—including musicians, instructors, callers, sound technicians, equipment—all the elements that make Tapestry dances and events special.
  • Building maintenance—heating & cooling, roof, carpet, electric, hardwood floors, parking lot, and all the fix-it tasks that make our building a flagship in the folk-dance world and provide a top-notch facility for renters.
  • Staffing – to support the bookkeeping, bill paying, memberships, communications, online calendars, website information, and all the other nuts and bolts that go into a successful organization, ensuring Tapestry runs smoothly now AND long into the future.

"I give to Tapestry Folkdance Center because of the joy and fellowship of dancing and the sense of community found in the opportunity to volunteer." - Nancy Sather, Board of Directors

PEOPLE - YOU, and all the active volunteers, steering committees, Board of Directors, rental partners, musicians, callers, instructors, sound technicians, and many, many dancers are the most important layer, the heart and core of Tapestry’s existence.

As you consider how you want to give this year remember how Tapestry Folkdance Center is a gathering place for FEEL-GOOD FUN, and all the personal connections and interactions that make up the WONDER OF COMMUNITY! In the end, no matter how you stack it, the layers of Tapestry Folkdance Center inspire all of us in the JOY OF DANCE!

Donations IN ANY AMOUNT sustain all that Tapestry Folkdance Center does to keep the joy and the dancing tradition alive. All gifts are welcome, big or small, and every dollar is needed as Tapestry Folkdance Center looks to another 40 years of success!
