$5,000 Goal

Can you imagine, for a moment, what it would be like if you couldn’t read this line? Sadly, this is the case for so many children by the time they reach third grade and even far beyond. For a child who can't read, their world can be a challenging and isolating place. Reading is not just a skill; it's a gateway to understanding, knowledge, and communication.

Let me introduce you to Madi. Madi has dyslexia. This means that Madi’s brain processes language and text and even numbers differently and this makes it difficult to learn using typical classroom tools. Luckily, Madi has been working in the Strides For Reading Program at Stride Academy since first grade. Now, in seventh grade, Madi is reading so well that she will finish Level 9 - The Influences of Foreign Languages this school year and will complete the final level, Level 10 - Greek Words and Latin Roots as an eighth grader. On completion of Level 10, Madi will be the third student in Stride Academy's history to complete all 10 levels! Without our Stride For Reading program, students like Madi may have fallen through the cracks.

At Stride Academy, we believe that literacy builds the foundation for a stronger community. Did you know:

  • 2 out of 5 children struggle to read,

  • 54% of American adults read below the equivalent of a sixth-grade level, and

  • Nearly 1 in 5 adults reads below a third-grade level.

Through our program, Strides For Reading, we strive to change these statistics in our community.

We believe you understand the impact education makes in a child’s future and in the future of our community. We see the magic that 1:1 coaching and the attention to reading fundamentals that our Strides For Reading Program has on our students and how crucial it is to their development and ability to strengthen literacy skills.

We would like to give you the opportunity to join us in our mission of literacy. We are currently seeking $5,000 to support our Strides for Reading Program. Your contribution will allow us to purchase more materials and resources specific to our Strides for Reading Program, and help us ensure that all children graduate from Stride Academy with the tools and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.
