The Dream Has Come True – Now We Need You to Help Keep It Alive!
Thanks to your support, we’ve reached a major milestone: our Book Source Literacy Center has been open for over a year, making a profound impact in our community. Here’s what we’ve accomplished together:
We serve 100 community members per month on average.
We’ve distributed over 1,000 books through our community bookshelves.
We’ve partnered with local organizations to secure literacy grants.
Our bookmobile has become a beloved part of community events, including:
Neighborhood garden parties
Juneteenth celebrations
Summer movie nights
Community live music events
These accomplishments are only possible because of supporters like you.
Recently, a new community member walked in after hearing about us from a neighbor. He spent over an hour browsing and chatting, finally leaving with 40 books. As he carried out his last box, he paused, turned, and said, “Thank you so much. I’m going home to sit in a pile of books with a cup of tea and cry a tear of joy – I finally have books of my own.”
This moment reminded us of the power of books—and relationships. Books build empathy, community, and hope, just like the relationships we foster here every day. Together, we are transforming lives through literacy.
But We’re Not Stopping There – We Need Your Help to Keep Growing!
While we've achieved a lot, there’s so much more we can do. In 2025, we are setting even bigger goals:
Increase our hours by 25% to better serve the community.
Expand the number of community book clubs we support by 25%.
Introduce biweekly adult writing and journaling classes to give a voice to even more members of our community.
Offer monthly family story hours, building stronger family connections through the power of reading.
To make these dreams a reality, we need to raise $15,000. Your donation today will ensure that we continue to provide equal access to books, literacy, and hope for all.
Will You Help Us Achieve These New Dreams?
Check out the next page and Donate today and help us keep our doors open, our programs growing, and our community reading. On the next page, you’ll find all the details to make giving simple and easy. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
