St James Child Care Center Inc

St. James first opened its doors in 1972 as the very first child care center in the Burnsville/Savage area. Since then, our mission has remained the same: to serve families with high-quality, compassionate early childhood care. Originally licensed to serve 60 children, our center has grown and evolved to meet the needs of today’s families.

Our recent name change—from St. James Child Care Center to St. James Lutheran Early Education Center (SJLEEC)—reflects our commitment to providing not only exceptional care, but a strong, developmentally focused early education experience.

SJLEEC supports the whole child—soul, mind, and body—through a Christ-centered approach that fosters social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive growth. We offer a range of flexible programs, including preschool-only, preschool with extended-day care, hourly care, and before/after-school care.

Every child who walks through our doors is welcomed into a safe, nurturing environment where they are known, loved, and encouraged to thrive.
