Southwest High School Performing Arts Council

The Southwest Performing Arts Council is a committed group of parent advocates who partner with the performing arts faculty. We organize fundraising efforts, build community relationships, and make the performing arts accessible to all of our students.

Community is at the core of the Southwest Performing Arts Council. Your support enables all Southwest students to have a community of peers and broader performing arts experiences. You are impacting young lives! The money we raise through our Fall Fundraiser 2023 will enrich the lives of our teens and future Southwest students. It is truly a gift that keeps on giving. Our teachers' salaries are the only part of the Southwest Performing Arts program funded by the Minneapolis school district. Everything else - sheet music, instruments, repairs, guest artists, costumes, buses, paint, lumber, etc. - is paid for by your contributions. We need your donation! Our goal is to raise $10,000 over the next two weeks.  Any meaningful amount you can give will help us sustain a thriving Performing Arts program. 

• $25 - Equipment: 1 box of guitar strings
• $50 - Costume: 1 costume for 1 student dancer
• $100 - Attire: concert shoes, pants, socks & belt for a student-in-need
• $250 - Supplies: 5 gallons of paint for a theatre production set build
• $500 - Music: licensing rights for approximately 5 new songs at a concert
• $1000 - Instrument: 1 medium size instrument (e.g., clarinet, saxophone, violin)

The SWPAC believes in the power of the arts to inspire, transport and captivate our community. As an organization, our goal is to ensure that our Performing Arts program is able to sustain a meaningful learning environment. We believe it is the responsibility of all of us to ensure that our students have exposure and access to the arts. Thanks for your support!
