Over 25 years with members from teens to senior citizens who bring the joy and universal language of great music to all age groups

Donations are greatly appreciated and will go toward needed items such as music, equipment, and other expenses.

The South of the River Community Band formed in 1990 and has grown to almost 70 dedicated, enthusiastic members who range in age from teenagers to grandparents and play a diverse assortment of band instruments.  Performances include Fall, Spring and Holiday concerts at concert halls, civic centers, Minnesota Veterans Home, and other senior citizen centers primarily within the South Metro area. We conclude with an outdoor June "Concert in the Park" series performed at various band shells in the Twin Cities. Musical repertoire consists of a wide variety of styles that include classical, marches, big band, jazz, show tune medleys, and other standard concert band pieces that appeal to all ages. Within the band is the Dakota Brass Ensemble which plays at band concerts and other events. The band and Dakota Brass are fortunate to have a few members who are gifted composers and arrangers.

Anyone with an instrument and desire to play is welcome to contact us on our webpage. Practices are on late Sunday afternoons from September through May.
