South Aitkin First Responders Inc

Established in the spring of 1994, South Aitkin First Responders (SAFR) is a 100% volunteer organization.  We train and equip all of our volunteers to deliver Emergency Medical Service.  Our organization averages between 20-30 members, some with 20+ years of experience, some with less than 2 years, some EMT's, some paramedics.

We are paged out with, or just before, the ambulance directly through the 911 dispatch center at the Aitkin County Sheriff's Department.  We respond directly from our homes in the community to the scene of an accident or emergency situation.  Our goal is to arrive before the ambulance to provide help in the first crucial minutes of the incident.
