Thursday is give to the max for your favorite nonprofits!

Quietly we work behind the scenes painting with those in need of a little art therapy and companionship in troubling times.

It is looking like the light is opening up for a new home this coming fall!

Help us grow with a tax deductible "seed" donation to put down our roots in the community!

Where Everyone is a Fabulous Artist!

Simply ArtAble is a 501c3 non-profit art studio whose mission it is to provide rewarding art programming for people of all ages and to be inclusive of all abilities and disabilities. Simply ArtAble recognizes each individual’s inherent creativity and works with each artist to bring forth their inner beauty through the creative process.

By providing quality visual art programming to individuals with developmental, cognitive, and physical disabilities, as well as seniors and those struggling with mental health issues, Simply ArtAble enhances quality of life for a segment of the population that typically does not have access to instructors who are professional artists.

Due to the challenges of COVID-19, we were forced to close our beloved physical studio, a space that served as a welcoming, inclusive environment for individuals of all abilities. We are excited to announce our plans to reopen. Thanks to the help of all our wonderful donors, we have now found a new home and have started renovations. We will soon be opening our inclusive paint studio for all once again! Let's get back out into the community to spread Compassion, Peace & Love!

Watch our new studio transform and grow at 3805 Cedar Ave So in Minneapolis!

It's all about Peace & Love!

Our Art Programming:

What sets Simply ArtAble apart from other studios is that our staff is experienced in working with people of all abilities. The studio is completely ADA compliant, including automatic doors, ramps, and adjustable tables that accommodate large, motorized wheelchairs. A quiet area in the back of the studio offers calm for those who get overwhelmed with noise or lots of people.

Our special needs programs include:

  • Pizza-Paint Parties – once a month we host a free, two-hour painting party where often-isolated day program participants and others with a disability can paint and socialize with "paint buddies" from the larger community in a fun and festive environment.
  • Hospital Visits – once a month one of our professional artists packs up paints and canvases and holds a “Paint-the-Greats” class for expectant moms on bed rest at the Mother Baby Center at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. We also go off-site for special events, such as a in-hospital painting classes for cancer patients or children who have undergone brain surgery.
  • Group Home Paint Sessions – group home residents and day program participants visit weekly to paint in our studio with instruction from a professional artist.
  • Special Events – we often partner with programs that serve unique communities to offer special painting events in our adaptive studio. Some recent events have been with Turner Syndrome Foundation, North American Council on Adoptable Children, Opportunity Partners, Diabetic Living, Courage Kenny, Mt. Olivet Circle of Friends, Minnesota Hands & Voices.
  • Classes and Camps – all of our summer camps and classes, for kids and adults, including our after school program and Paint-the-Greats classes, are open to and suitable for people of all abilities.

Our studio is open Wed–Sunday: 10 am - 5 pm for drop-in painting. For a small fee, artists of all abilities are welcome to come paint in the studio, using our professional paints, brushes, and instructors. We also offer private paint lessons and host birthday parties, corporate team-building, and other private events. The fees from all of these activities go right back into supporting our programming for persons with disabilities.

OUR IMPACT In 2016 we reached over 10,000 individual artists of all ages and abilities – over 3,000 were special needs painters! In the past five years, Simply ArtAble has brought art into the lives of over 40,000 people, many of whom have a developmental, cognitive, or physical disability.

WITH YOUR SUPPORT, we can expand our programs to reach even more persons with disabilities.
