We have experienced a prolonged period filled with many challenges for Minnesota’s most vulnerable children.  Your dollars will help spark positive change in the lives of children and families throughout the state.   

A donation to Sheltering Arms can help create lasting change for children in need.  Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a vital role in supporting local communities and empowering voices.  Help us continue our mission of providing grants to non-profit organizations that provide broad and equitable programming to children and advocating for public policies that benefit our most vulnerable children and families throughout the state.  

Sheltering Arms is committed to closing the opportunity gap between low-income children of color and their white peers. Through grantmaking, we support local, community-led nonprofit organizations that break down barriers for these children and their families.

We are:

• Investing over $575,000 to support 50+ non-profits serving over 10,000 vulnerable children in Minnesota.
• Committed to closing the opportunity gap between low-income children of color and their white peers. Through grantmaking, we support local, community-led nonprofit organizations that break down barriers for these children and their families.
• Advocating at the Minnesota legislature for adequate funding of early childhood learning and youth afterschool programs.   

We fund programs such as these:

• Therapeutic Preschools serving our youngest and most challenged infants and toddlers.
• Art & Music Therapy in early childhood and youth development settings.
• STEM, STEAM & Culinary Arts programming in out-of-school time settings.
• Advocacy training sessions so parents can learn how to advocate for change.

We continue to be passionately dedicated to:

• Improving access to early childhood education and childcare
• Supporting quality out of school time programs
• Strengthening family relationships
• Supporting advocacy efforts across the state
