Shakopee Educational Endowment Foundation (SEEF)

A nonprofit organization

SEEF's mission is to preserve and enhance the quality of education in the Shakopee School District by funding projects that provide innovative learning opportunities for our students.

Through our Teacher Grant Program, SEEF enables educators to test new ideas, attempt creative programming, or incorporate new technology that otherwise would not be funded – all of which support valuable educational experiences for Shakopee students. The foundation operates independently of Shakopee Public Schools as a charitable foundation and relies on generous contributions from businesses, service organizations, school district staff, community members, and alums. Donations go directly to funding innovative instructional materials and best practice programs that would otherwise be impossible.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, since 1991, the Shakopee Educational Endowment Foundation has provided nearly $494,000 in grants to fund projects that directly benefit Shakopee students. SEEF receives proposals in various areas, including math, science, technology, fine arts, early childhood, and special education, to name just a few. Examples of some of the projects funded include:

  • Ukuleles for music classes
  • Smudging Space for Native Students
  • Roller blades to increase health and wellness for Middle Schoolers
  • An environmental education program with a Minnesota conservation nonprofit
  • Online curriculum art resources
  • “Field Trip in Box,” put together by the MN Landscape Arboretum
  • Hands-on supplies for elementary students to conduct scientific experiments
  • Field day equipment for exploring science outdoors
  • "Teddy Bear Clinic" supplies for preschoolers to prepare students for medical visits
  • African and Native American cultural experiences at the Ordway

Please consider a tax-deductible donation as your investment in our children's future. Students will feel the effect of your gift for years to come. Contributions of $1000 or more will be recognized on the SEEF donor plaque at Shakopee High School.
