Why Saint Therese on Give to the Max Day?

The seniors that live or receive care at one of our campuses rely on donations every single day. Donations not only fund programs and services, they help seniors continue to live at Saint Therese. As the population continues to live longer lives many outlive their financial resources. We wish for all seniors to have access to excellent care and housing. For this reason the Saint Therese Caring Fund was created. 

The Caring Fund is available to Saint Therese residents who have outlived their financial resources. The Caring Fund allows residents to stay in their homes at Saint Therese by providing financial assistance. Residents can continue to live, receive care, and participate in campus activities with their friends and families through this fund. Thus reducing stress of residents and families alike.

Most recently the Caring Fund has helped:

- A resident following an extended transitional care unit (TCU) stay. During the TCU stay it was determined the resident needed to move to assisted living after leaving the TCU. She applied for elderly waiver, but her resources couldn’t cover her housing and transitional care costs. She received enough funds through the Caring Fund to cover her outstanding transitional care costs so she could focus on recovering and settling into her new home.   

- An independent living resident who had applied for and was waiting the outcome of his Elderly Waiver application. He had lived at Saint Therese for several years and relied on his nurses to help him with his medication. He received funds during those months of waiting which allowed him to stay in his home and continue to be supported by our nursing team which he had grown so fond of. 

We anticipate the number of residents seeking assistance will only increase and we need your help to keep these valuable members of our community in their homes.
