Royal Guard Performing Arts is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization serving youth ages 14-24 from the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area of Minnesota. We seek to foster a positive experience for all who participate by promoting education, creativity, and freedom of expression through the unification of the marching arts industry, music education, and the preforming arts. In last year's return to competition after a 20-year span of inactivity for Royal Guard organization, Royal Guard Winter Guard had a successful competition season including, first place in Winter Guard International's Omaha Regional.
Practices will begin in November for our second performance ensemble, Royal Guard Winter Guard. Winter Guard is the sport of indoor color guard. Modern color guard combines the use of flags, sabers, mock rifles and other equipment, as well as dance and interpretive movement to create a themed show that is typically preformed in competition January-April. Royal Guard fills a void for students who do not have this great opportunity available to them in their schools or communities. We have an enthusiastic group of students and staff looking forward to the season ahead. This year we are committed to finding ways to perform in the ever-changing landscape of the pandemic while keeping safety of performers, staff and spectators as our priority.
As a newer organization, we have start up costs, including equipment, uniforms, gym floor covering, as well as standard operating costs such as practice space rental fees and administrative costs. In order to make this activity available to all who wish to participate we are working to keep membership fees low.
