Coming Out of the Dark

Like many other performing arts organizations, the Rep was greatly impacted by the pandemic. We had to cancel shows, close our doors and go without seeing our fantastic patrons for an entire season. We missed you!

The Rep never lost faith or gave up hope. With the increased support of our incredible Rep family, we were able to produce socially distanced and COVID-compliant productions of Love Letters and Turn of the Screw. It was a joy beyond words to finally welcome patrons back with us in our temporary home at the Rochester Civic. The opening of our 38th Season kicked off earlier this month with a riotous production of the cult classic Evil Dead: The Musical. It was a bloody-good time had by all, and we couldn't be more thankful for the support. Now we will be back in our own building for the holiday classic A Christmas Carol

Since the onset of the pandemic, we have been incredibly busy revitalizing our space. From remodeled bathrooms, additional flooring, paint treatments and an updated concessions area, the outpouring of donations we received last year played a vital role in our remodel. From all us here at the Rep, we say "THANK YOU!" But we aren't done yet...

We Can't Do it Alone!

While we want revel in our newly remodeled lobby, we aren't resting on our laurels! We still have a long list of tasks we want to complete in order to make your experience at the Rep even better. Highest on the list is the completion of a brand new HVAC system. It's a large undertaking, but this new system will provide much needed comfort to our patrons and talent on and off stage in the way of heating and cooling. It will also make your visit to the Rep a safer one, being able to filter the air in the entire building. We can't wait to offer you additional peace of mind when attending a Rep production. The Rep has come so far, but this basic upgrade will help propel us to the next level. All funds raised from Give to the Max this year will go straight to the HVAC system installation. Help make the Rep the "coolest" place to be, or the "hottest" ticket in town!

The Rep's 37 seasons have been made possible by the generous contributions of our volunteers, patrons, artists and sponsors!

As we launch our 38th Season our mission and tradition thrive; our commitment to bringing you the very best in theatre soars. Join us, won’t you? The Rep is unique in that our theatre company is composed largely of volunteers who collectively provide our operations and artistic talent through thousands of hours of labor each year. Their efforts are buoyed by financial contributions that are used to:

  1. Maintain our facility - performance space, public areas, rehearsal rooms and workshops
  2. Produce our plays - royalties, printing expenses, advertising, sets, costumes and props
  3. Operate our organization - utilities, office expenses, insurance, outside services

The Rep is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization and your financial donations are tax deductible in accordance with relevant tax codes.
