Current Foundation Initiatives

Pay it Forward Fund

Pay It Forward Fund was founded in 2005 by a breast cancer survivor. Since then, we’ve helped patients buy groceries, pay their mortgages, heat their homes, keep their lights and their water on, and repair their cars so they can drive to chemo. For hundreds of women in need, these gifts have made a difference at a time of crisis.

Cause for the Community

Together, we will undertake one of the largest campaigns in Ridgeview Foundation history and put Ridgeview at the forefront of modern health care. We invite you to join us for the Cause for the Community campaign. This multiyear campaign will touch almost every department within Ridgeview and positively impact the 300,000 residents in our seven-county service area.

Hospice and Palliative Care

Ridgeview Hospice provides holistic care to people in their final stages of life. When the days of one's life are limited, hospice helps support patients and families to live fully all the days that remain.

Norman & Ann Hoffman Emergency Center

The Emergency Department on the Waconia campus was last renovated 25 years ago and is in need of updates to improve our patients’ experience and privacy.

Renovation of the Emergency Department added 10,000 square feet to the existing 10,000 square foot facility, enhancing patient privacy, services and technology. The $18.8 million project highlights include:

  • Observation Unit for those not requiring transfer to a hospital bed, but monitoring in a comforting environment.
  • A mental health area where those needing support and solitude can get the help they need.
  • New trauma rooms with advanced technology for those most critically injured.
  • An improved designed and workflow to streamline care.

With this project, Ridgeview’s Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation department was moved to a new space—also 10,000 square feet—in the lower level with a gym, conference room and consult rooms.

Ridgeview Patient Mental Health and Addiction Fund

Ridgeview is committed to caring for every patient mind, body and soul. The Ridgeview Patient Mental Health and Addiction Fund provides prescription and co-pay assistance to patients who demonstrate a financial need. The fund also provides basic necessities, reading materials, comfort materials and games to mental health patients facing an extended stay in our emergency departments.

Women and Children's Services

To help meet Ridgeview's vision of providing comprehensive health services to women in all stages of their lives, we offer a new Birthing Center, neonatal care unit, pediatric and young adult care, a bladder and pelvic health program and more. Your generosity will help make the Center for Women & Children a destination of excellence.

Employee Crisis Fund

During 2020, Ridgeview implemented an Employee COVID Relief Fund aimed at helping those who’ve experienced financial hardship due to COVID in some way. This fund has now been updated to be able to support a variety of “crises” a Ridgeview staff member may encounter. The fund, which will be available beginning May 1, 2021, will be used to assist employees in time of life crisis which leads to financial hardship. A "crisis" is defined as a significant event(s) or radical change of status in a person's life that creates immediate, unforeseen and substantial financial obligation. A “crisis” may include the inability to meet basic needs such as food, shelter, and clothing.
